“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven:” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

A time to weep and mourn; a time to humbly acknowledge evil deeds; a time to truly repent, never to repent again; a time to wake up from stupor, and shake off the delusive spirit of self-deceit, self-denial, self-destruction, false sense of security and hope; a time for a nation with churches and mosques littering all her corners, to obey the voice of God, rather than continue to engage in endless and meaningless prayers and vigils devoid of obedience; an urgent time to answer this call, which came to us by revelation of the Almighty God.

This is an urgent clarion call to all leaders of Nigeria including the Presidency, Governors, National and State Legislators and all local leaders and Pastors in Nigeria to come together and join us as we cry out to God for repentance of our nation. It is time to truly humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face by turning away from sin, wickedness, abomination and inequity that have so permeated and plagued our land. Only then will God hear us and heal our land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Let it be known that without true and sincere repentance, judgment of the Almighty shall surely come unto this nation for the blood she has shed and for the idols she had made to defile herself with. Nigeria is drawing near to the day of its destruction; our sins have found us. Indeed, God has made her a reproach to the nations, and a mockery to all countries. Other countries mock her as infamous and full of tumult; a nation devoid of godly fear and conscience. If nothing is done, God shall pour out His indignation on this nation and consume her with the fire of His wrath. He will recompense her deeds on her own head. (Ezekiel 22:1-4) Nevertheless, if we are truly willing to repent of our evil deeds and obey His voice (depart from evil), God will mercifully spare Nigeria.

Therefore, let us join together and stand in gap for Nigeria to fast and pray for God to lift and alleviate His judgment. The Bible states that where the watchman fails to warn the people and the sword comes and takes away any person in his iniquity, the person’s blood shall be required of the watchman’s hand. (Ezekiel 33:6). We cannot allow this happen to us.

Examination of the scriptures reveals the reason why Nigeria is in such a state of decadence. Nigeria is one of the richest oil producing countries of the world, yet is neither willing to support real development nor sustain the welfare of her people because of cyclical saga of corruption, resulting to the lack of basic infra-structure including electricity, water, roads, health care delivery, hospitals and schools. Spiritually and morally, Nigeria is in a class alone, a country of people like the people Apostle Paul wrote about in Romans “filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, and unmerciful” (Romans 1:29-31). Those who practice, or approve of such things are deserving of death (Romans 1:32). “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness” (Romans 1:18)

Even most church leaders are now at the helm of corruption, abominable manipulation, deception, lies, and feel good doctrine of man for covetous gain. Like a roaring lion, these ministers, as agents of darkness, tear down their prey and devour them for dishonest gain. Of least consideration to them is the transformation (change in behavior) of the congregation and the nation. These “ministers” are like those God abhorred in the book of Jeremiah, “Because from the least of them even to the greatest of them, everyone is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even to the priest, everyone deals falsely. They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly, saying peace, peace! Where there is no peace. Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No! They were not ashamed; nor did they know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; at the time I punish them, they shall be cast down,” says the LORD. (Jeremiah 6:13-15) They are certainly like those Ezekiel describes as “…seeing false visions, and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ when the Lord had not spoken.” (Ezekiel 22: 25-29).

Let those who profess to be ministers of God in Nigeria take serious note! The year of God’s punishment has commenced; those who reject this call to turn away, today, from their evil and wicked violence against the kingdom of God and His children will bring destruction to themselves and their families. Woe to the masses with itching ears, which run around churches and spiritual houses chasing after self aggrandizement, power and the destruction of their supposed enemies contrary to the doctrine of Jesus Christ. Nigeria has become a nation that has exchanged the truth of God for the lie and worship and serve the creature rather than the Creator (Romans 1:25). Eternal damnation is a fairy tale to Nigerians.

The most profound state of the nation is the people’s absolute and massive desensitization to sin. People go about their ways conducting business as usual without taking thoughts to ongoing abnormalities such as bribe to all government officials to get anything accomplished, massacres of the innocent by identifiable groups, corrupt and diabolic politicians who continuously loot the coffers of the nation, extortion of the most vulnerable by the government, university lecturers and spiritual leaders; sexual immorality especially among wealthy Nigerians, greed, rape, prostitutions among university students; kidnapping originated by family members, robberies, amongst many other ongoing evils. This nation lives as if there is no God. Truth has failed. Therefore, justice is far from us; for our transgressions are with us, Justice is turned back and righteousness stands afar off from us; he who departs from evil makes himself a prey (Isaiah 59: 9, 14-15). God removes his presence from a nation where such acts reign; and gives up the people to uncleanness, vile passions and debased and deluded mind to do those things which are not fitting that they will in themselves receive the penalty of their error which is due. (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 1:27). This is clearly evident in Nigeria today.

God in His infinite mercy has urged us, by revelation, to seek for those who fear Him, and are desirous and willing to stand in the gap for Nigeria that He may tapper His judgment and not utterly destroy this land. Only God can turn this country around.
