BIBLE STUDY FELLOWSHIP: Transcription Summary, May 10, 2012. COLORS OF DESTRUCTION AND DEATH OF DISCIPLESHIP DISCIPLESHIP SERIES –PART 9 By: Emeka Ozurumba; TRANSCRIBER: Joan Nwuli Disciples of God cannot be partakers of darkness, inequity, reproof or hypocrisy. As disciples, we have to consider our ways very carefully to make sure that we do not receive the judgment of God by living a life that reflects and aligns with the word of God. (Haggai 1:6-7). Some who claim to be servants of God are using the Church of God as an organized scam institution and a place of merchandize where manipulation, deception and lies are common place as they devise ways to satisfy themselves. For such wicked and deceitful actions, God will surely judge His people and avenge Himself as He did in the old for He cannot and does not change. The day of repentance is now. (Jer 7:9-16; Jer 5: 26-29; Mal 3:6; James 1:17). Disciples must do everything for the conscience of others to prevent others from stumbling. Word of God is like fire, hammer and sharper than a two edged sword. It saves those who use it in accordance with His will and kills those who misuse it (Jer 23:29; Heb 4:12; John 12:48). Color of hypocrisy Disciples of God should walk in God’s footsteps even as Jesus walked. They should always endeavor to be the light and salt of the world, a city set on the hill that cannot be hidden, born and sanctified by the word of God which all disciples must abide and live in. To do otherwise, is hypocrisy. (1John 2:6, 3:24; John 13:15, 14:11, 15:7, 17:17; Matt 5:13; Deu 8:3; Ez 20:11; 1 Peter 1:23). A hypocrite is one who is concerned about the outside, with the motive to look good and show off to people, never living what he professes. He is consumed with people and in covering his sin and deceit. He is under the delusion that as long as human beings do not know what he does, God does not see it. He is like an addict who is not able to repent because he believes his own lies and thinks he is okay. Thus, he is an enemy of himself headed for eternal destruction for nothing is hidden from God. A hypocrite judges and condemns himself. ( Jer 23:24; Mark 4:22; Matt 10:28; Matt 6:16; Pro 28:13 Matt12:37,). Disciples of God should not be hypocrites. They must be what they do, not what they say. Disciples are anointed to bring help to others by doing the good works of God that the Father may be glorified instead of bringing condemnation, oppression and destruction to others by their actions. The greatest spiritual victory is doing everything unto God to please him. (Isaiah 61:1-2; 1 Tim 4:12; Matt 5:16, 6:16, 7:3; Col 3: 17, 23; 1 Cor 10:31) Abuse under color of authority of priesthood Damnation and curse is upon anyone who takes advantage of people who come to him under the authority of his position as a man of God. This type of abuse can be spiritual, physical, sexual or manipulation to get something. An abuse under such authority is to despise and challenge God. It is like eating the ‘chiefest’ of God’s sacrifice (I Sam 2:22-25; Jer 7:9-16; Jer 5: 26-29). Those oppressed and deceived are thought to behave likewise. Woe unto those through which these offenses come. These so called men of God have no excuse for they are given to understand the mysteries of the kingdom of God (Luke 17:1-2; Matt 13:11-15; 1 Tim 1:13). If one is truly called by God, he would desist from actions that defame and bring shame to the name of God. The only reason God calls anyone is for him to proclaim God’s words which will cause people to turn away from their evil ways and doings, then repent and follow God. While some are called by God, others are made by men or made themselves servants of God. Whoever’s flesh is not crucified is not truly called of God (Matt. 19:11-14; Jer 23:22; Gal 2:20).
